INITIATIVE 100 PRAYER POINTS
August 24, 2008
Congress
Of the 290 laws passed this Congress (which comes dangerously close to the lowest number ever), 30 percent of them just name post offices. Congress also took the time to recognize July as "National Watermelon Month" and officially classify dirt as a natural resource. It is little wonder that Congress's approval rating is in the single digits-nine percent-for the first time ever. Dozens of Republicans joined hundreds of spectators on the House floor to protest Speaker Nancy Pelosi's (D-Calif.) decision to send Congress home for the rest of the summer without a vote on legislation to move America toward energy independence. Pray for our congress to forget politics and do the right thing for our nation. Pray that our leaders would overcome greed and power to become statesmen and stateswomen. Pray our leaders from President down would turn to God for direction.
Holy Lord God, All the earth is filled with Your glory and beauty, and your majesty fills the heavens. In Your glory You also declare that You desire Your people to long for righteousness. You love obedience and long for us to seek You and Your righteousness, O God. This day, may Americans earnestly desire righteousness. May we hunger to do good in Your eyes, to honor Your ways and to obey You in all things, particularly as we consider those for whom we will vote this fall. Intercessors time is down to just 76 days before the fate of our nation is determined for the next four years. Pray that God would have mercy on our nation. Pray that Godly men and women would be elected to lead our country.
The LORD loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of his unfailing love. --Psalm 33:5

Nation "Change" seems to be the word of the hour for our nation's upcoming election and in the Body of Christ and in the heart of God, also! God doesn't change, but He can "flip flop" on our nation's destiny even if it seems all doom and gloom right now. He can change His mind as He has in the past. God can "flip flop" and turn America over in a hot oven and finish baking this cake...if we pray and turn from our own "flip flopping" in our lives! Let us repent and pray, believing. Intercessors other nations are praying for our elections because of the importance world wide. Pray God would have mercy on our Nation. Pray for Godly leaders to be elected. Pray our nation would turn from it's wicked ways. Proverbs 21:1 "The king's heart is in the hand of the LORD, as the rivers of water: He turneth it whithersoever He will."For more info Goto:http://www.elijahlist.com/words/display_word/6706Abortion Planned Parenthood of South Dakota is refusing to do abortions. Why? Because a federal court has upheld a new law that would require them to disclose to women the risk factors of abortion. These are statistically proven risk factors that reliably identify which women are at highest risk of post-abortion psychological problems, including depression and suicidal behavior. That's not the way the story is being told in the national media, however. Research shows that most women believe the child they are carrying is a human being. Many believe abortion is morally wrong. But most also feel that they must undergo an abortion due to their circumstances or because of pressure, coercion and, in some cases, violence or threats of violence from others. Intercessors, pray for our bothers and sisters in Christ as they stand against abortion in their state of South Dakota. Pray for the protection of the unborn child. Pray for the mothers of unborn children change their minds before getting an abortion. For more info Goto:http://www.lifenews.com/state3424.htmlStem Cell Research
Little 2-year-old Chloe Levine, who was born with Cerebral Palsy, and unable to use the right side of her body is now able to walk, run and use her right hand. This is the result of an experimental procedure at Duke University in North Carolina where children with cerebral palsy are infused with their own cord blood stem cells in an effort to heal and repair damaged brain tissue. Pray for Chole and those like her to continue to be restored to health. Pray that Adult Stem Cell research would so far out perform embryonic stem cell research that embryonic stem cell research would lose it's funding. Gay Marriage
Following the California's Supreme Court ruling that legalized homosexual "marriage" in that state, activists sued to keep the marriage protection amendment off the November ballot. However, they failed in their attempt when the court ruled in favor of Proposition 8's inclusion on the ballot. Matt Staver of Liberty Counsel represented the Campaign for California Families and argued in defense of the amendment. "[We] really didn't know which way the court was going on this particular issue]," he says. "But the good news is they've rejected the argument by same-sex advocates to remove the marriage amendment. Intercessors California is in the worst kind of spiritual battle. Pray for this ammendment to pass in the November election. Pray for the voters of California to see that Gay Marriage goes against God's design for marriage.

President Bush has drawn attention, and will continue to do so, to the plight of persecuted Christians. The President made the remarks during a 10th anniversary ceremony to honor the International Religious Freedom Act, which was signed into law to deal with religious persecution. When people see coverage of the Olympics in China and specifically the opening ceremonies which Bush will attend prayerfully they will see more than just the beauty of China and the competition. Prayerfully they will remember that this is a country that persecutes our brothers and sisters, This is a country where Christians are currently in jail simply because of their Christian faith. Pray for safety of the participants in the 2008 Olympics. Pray that all schemes of the enemy would be exposed. Pray that God would move on the hearts of those involved with the Olympics.

The industry and its allies in the state house and the media are prepared to do whatever they must to defeat Kline in the August Republican primary, if they can, or more likely in November's general election. There is a lot at stake. Incredible as it may seem, Kansas has emerged as the late-term abortion capital of the world. Intercessors, here is a man that is standing against incredible giants and is unwavering in his moral and ethical beliefs. Pray that he and his family will be physically and spiritually protected during this election time. Pray that he will be elected this November election. I would say he is the dread champion for life in Kansas.

Gay Marriage
At least two counties in California have begun reviewing a plan to uphold the state's laws regarding marriage as being between one man and one woman and disregard a state Supreme Court opinion that has yet to be implemented by the Legislature. "Homosexual activists could take the Kern County ordinance to court, but in the meantime, the majority of people in the county will applaud loudly and say, "This is what we wanted to see. Let the battle begin." Only the Legislature, or the people through the initiative process, can make new laws in California. Thankfully, the California Constitution expressly prohibits the courts from making laws. Pray for the Californians standing for biblical marriages. Pray for their protection as they stand for family issues in California. Pray this will spread throughout the state on a county level. For more info Goto:http://www.lifenews.com/nat3992.html Abortion
Congressman Paul Broun (R-Georgia) agrees that federal tax dollars should not go to Planned Parenthood, partly because the organization is sporting a healthy profit but also because he supports an end to abortion. "God cannot and will not continue to bless America while we're killing 4,000 babies every single day. He cannot because he's a holy, righteous God," states the lawmaker. However, Broun believes a defunding bill will not have a chance in a Democratic-controlled Congress. They will not allow any kind of pro-life legislation to see the light of day, he maintains. It will not have any committee hearings. Pray that Congressman Paul Broun's view point on abortion would spread through the legislature. Pray that voter's would vote for Congressman that would end abortion. Pray that God would have mercy on our nation for the atrocities we have allowed to happen.

Eight year old Onise is one of the estimated 300,000 child slaves living in Haiti. Her parents, who live in the countryside, are so poor they simply gave her away to a slightly less poor family who lives in the capital, Port-au-Prince and who use her as a slave. ABC News Correspondent Dan Harris learns "How to Buy a Child in 10 Hours." As part of a five-month investigation into modern-day slavery, Harris traveled to Haiti to learn how easy it would be to buy a child slave. In just 10 hours, he flew from Manhattan to Haiti and negotiated to purchase an 11-year-old girl. Pray for the children in the bondage of slavery in Haiti. Gay Marriage California's top court Wednesday refused to go back on a decision paving the way towards gay marriage and said it would come into force on June 16. Gay marriage opponents collected the 694,354 signatures necessary to put an initiative on the California ballot on November 4. The California Supreme Court filed an order in the denying requests to stay its decision until after the November 2008 election and denying petitions for rehearing. Pray the voters would see the destruction of families by making this law. Pray voters of California would vote to remove this law. Pray for the deception to be removed from those caught in the gay life style. For more info Goto:http://afp.google.com/article/ALeqM5golrXNLEZ6XAq8G931X1JcH7xkhAInternet
The Federal Communications Commission is auctioning the unused 25 Mhz wireless spectrum with a precondition that the winner of the bid must provide free internet access and should also filter out obscene content from it. Martin’s plan will be taken into consulting on FCC's next meeting on June 12. It is argued that the proposal if implemented would provide family friendly internet access to 50 percent of the U.S. population within four years and 95 percent within 10 years. Pray that the plan would be shown favor during the discussion on June 12th. Pray that those in the meeting would see the need from such a family friendly service. U.S. Navy is prepared to move assets to help find those who have lost their lives, to help find the missing, and to help stabilize the situation. In order to do so, the military junta must allow our disaster assessment teams into the country. The U.S. State Department has been told that an American assessment team will not be allowed inside Burma. The White House says that U.S. aid is not conditional on that assessment team and the United States will continue to help through the United Nations if the team is blocked. That's assuming Colorado for Equal Rights can submit 76,000 signatures by May 13 to qualify the measure. The constitutional amendment endorsing personhood for unborn children could pave the way to prohibiting abortions. Pray for protection over the unborn children. For more info Goto:http://www.lifenews.com/state3190.html

Abortion
Voters in South Dakota narrowly rejected a total ban on pregnancy termination in 2006, with 56 percent voting no, but exit polls showed a majority would have backed a ban if it had been less strict. "All induced abortions, whether surgically or chemically induced, terminate an entire, unique, living human being, a human being separated from his or her mother, as a matter of scientific and biological fact," says the text to be voted upon on November 4. Pray for the ban of abortion in South Dakota. Pray for the hearts of of the voters in South Dakota to vote God's conscience in this issue.
